President, Craft Bakers Association
Currently President of the Craft Bakers Association , past Chairman of the British Society of Baking (BSB), past President of the ABST (student body) and proud recipient of a Special Achievement award at The Baking Industry Awards. I started my baking career at the age of 15 working in 2 well respected Craft bakers in the north of England before joining Hovis as a Technical representative in 1974. Despite various management positions I have never been very far from baking. I have judged many competitions and often asked what makes a winning loaf. The first step is to carefully read the Competition schedule and then achieve all the desired quality attributes of the loaf type you are entering. Attention to fine detail will push you into the prizes.
